&& any other tips for volleyball is accepted, too.
thank you in advance.

Pretend you are serving the ball. Dont hit the ball.. just let it drop to the floor right in the middle of the X. do this a couple of times a day and your toss should be great. Then work-out your arms so you are able to hit the ball hard. Make sure you hit the ball on your palm. You can practice that by going really close to a wall. Toss the ball and hit the ball right into the wall. But make sure you are really really close to the wall, so then the ball doesnt come back at you. doing all of this will improve your serving skills.

Talk to your coach first though because when I played for school in 8th grade, it wasn't allowed, but when I played on a city team we could do it any way we wanted. I don;t think its taught that way in school, but trust me it's alot easier. Anyways I found that it was alot easier to have control of the ball and it goes farther with the underhanded serve. If you don't know what it is, basically you make a fist and turn your hand to where your thumb is kinda on the side and kinda on the top, and where your fingers make a circle and where your thumb is, is where the ball should hit. Sorry if that doesn't make sense, if your coach says underhanded serving is ok ask them to show you how! And no, there really isn't anything you can do besides practice. I remember I even got bruises from 'bumping' all the time. It's alotta work but you know what they say practice makes perfect.

your toss should be on the right side of your body if you are right handed if not then left
practice throwing it up high and letting it drop and it should land right infront of your foot.
if you are right handed put your right foot forward and when you toss step with the left and hit it then follow threw by stepping with your right foot. um yeah that's all i really know hope this helped!!!! [ lalalovely17's advice column | Ask lalalovely17 A Question ]
