im going to major in engineering. is it okay for me to take all the engineering classes before the general requirement classes (history, english, math, science)?
I'm also majoring in engineering, but my school has a suggested schedule. So I'll give you a little advice based on that.
Try and take one or two gen ed classes a semester. If anything, they'll provide a little break from all engineering. And you'll meet lots of different people there, not just those in your major. [ VixenDark's advice column | Ask VixenDark A Question ]

As long as your engineering classes don't have your general requirement classes as pre-requisites then it should all be alright. You might want to pay a visit to a college counselor to make sure it's alright to take the classes in the order you want to. [ cailoisa's advice column | Ask cailoisa A Question ]

As for whether it is a good idea or not I wouldn't do it, if you take all your engineering courses in the beginning and the requirments at the end you may be costing yourself valuable contacts, near graduation alot of firms have reps come in to talk to classes about their company and this is a great time to network. Also by taking all your engineering classes in the beginning it won't be as fresh in your mind when you start the interview process.
