Friend's birthday.
17/f.
My friends birthday is on monday and she's turning 18. They all want to go to a hooka bar. She said you don't have to do it, its just fun going down and watching people do it.
I've never been to a hooka bar so I don't know much about it. I know what it is, but is it bad for you? Also, I don't know if my parents will be up for it so how do I tell them. If I go I probably won't do it anyways but my parents won't believe me probably. And anyways, I'm unsure about going. How old do you have to be to go? How old do you have to be to do it? Is it bad for you? What should I tell my parents?

It is simply a tobacco bar. Smoking is allowed.
So if you are old enough to smoke cigarettes you can smoke there. If you aren't old enough and don't smoke, then you will probably not have a good time.
You may as well tell your parents because you will probably come home smelling like an ashtray.
You won't notice but they sure will.

so many places these days don't allow smoking. It is a place for smokers to go hang out. Nothing
dramatic about it.
Smoking of course causes all kinds of nasty things according to our government. So depending on your point of view you can be harmed by the smoke. You would have to be of age to smoke. So at least 18. If they serve drinks, probably 21. :)

the age that your aloud to do it is differnet in all areas, here i think you only have to be 15 or 16. but its pretty much just flavored smoke and tobacco. smoking anything is never good for you, but its not bad for you like smoking a cigarette. try it only if you want to though, you shouldnt try something you think you'll regret later

Well I think it sounds like you really aren't into it. I think your friend really wants to go because it's her big 18th and she wants to do something special. But trust me it's not special. I don't care what people say if your smoking it than it isn't good for you. I sincerally think that you should figure out if it is really worth it. You shouldn't lie to your parents. I don't mean to sound like I want you to do the right thing, if you want to go, go but if your unsure, I wouldn't. It's not a good situation to be in. Peer pressure is a bitch. you need to be 18 to get in, probably 21 to do anything, It can't phisiccally harm you so i guess it isn't bad but it isn't good either, and just ask your parents. I don't know how old you are but If your over 18 i don't know why they'd stop you.

hey there. you know i've been in plenty of situations where my friends did stuff that i wasnt too sure of doing, and i was scared to tell my parents.
i've never done drugs.. except hooka. and its honestly not bad. i was concerned on its side effects so i researched it. its very hard to find online, so let me tell you, its NOT as bad as smoking like "pot" or a cigerette. You can jusst tell your parents something else, like your going out to eat or something. i too have had my share in not telling my parents the whole truth about what im doing, but i've managed to get away with it.
Anyway. if you end up going..which theres nothing wrong with..you can ask the people who work there, what the effects are. im pretty sure they'd know lol.
