I am 14/f and I haven't had my period since early May. I've gone for over two months without getting my period. I'm starting to get concerned about it. I got my first period when I was 12. Lately, I've started eating a lot healthier than I used to. I used to eat ice cream every night and eat a lot of snacks that were high in calories and fat. But now I eat snacks like fruit and yogurt, and I try to balance out the number of servings I eat from all the food groups. Also, I've started running more to get in shape for lacrosse (3 mi. every morning), and I swim on a swim team (twice a day 5 days a week). I've lost about 10 or 15 pounds since the last time I had my period. I know I'm not pregnant because I haven't had sex. And I'm not anorexic, I'm 5'6" and weigh 125. I eat regularly, about 2000 calories daily. So why haven't I had my period. Am I at risk for anything serious? How can I change what I'm doing to ensure that I get my period again? Thanks, I'm so worried!

the same thing happened to me. just my doctor said that your body neeed to get use to it before it while its being phisical before it can start again. basically, it just might take a while until you get it. (not too long, for me it was 4 months.

PunkieFreak4690 answered Sunday July 9 2006, 8:20 pm: It's normal that periods can become irregular. It happens to every woman and for the most part it's nothing to worry about. Since you said you eat healthy, exercise and haven't had sex, one factor may be stress, which may also delay periods. If that doesn't apply then it's probably irregular. It's normal, and nothing serious. However, if you go 60-90 days without being on your period, contact your physician or gynocologist. You could have reproductive problems. miz_babi_liz55 answered Sunday July 9 2006, 7:33 pm: since no two women's bodies are alike, the fact you havnt had your period may be completely normal. you're still young, and your body is continuously changing. i suggest you definately tell your parents(if you havnt already) and see a doctor. Your change of diet very well couldve triggered this, but in that case your body's merely adapting and you should be fine. whatever the case is, i definately think you should see a doctor as soon as possible. take care. i hope i helped =] [ miz_babi_liz55's advice column | Ask miz_babi_liz55 A Question ]

But, you have to remember some people have irregular periods.
