Before I go into a tanning bed do I need to take my makeup off? Or does that not matter?

It won't matter. It will just put a thin (depending on how much make up you wear) between you and the bed lamp. But you should have your face mostly covered since beds do the same thing the sun does (just quicker and a little more harsh) and can cause wrinkles and sun spots. Most beds have a different light over your face so it's not as harsh.
Aside from that, I don't support the tanning bed idea at all. It's quick and easy, but to many times results in orangey looking skin and an increased risk of cancer. 15 minutes in a bed can equal about 3 hours in the sun. (You should also know that about 5 sunburns doubles your chances for skin cancer.)
Skin cancer (and cancer in general) is a lot easier to get nowadays. If you don't like the tanning bed idea, I suggest something like Jergen's lotion with the touch of self tanner. It really does work, and nicely. Just make sure you wash your hands afterwards and be careful around drier areas such as knees, elbows, and feet.
Hope that helped you. ]
sorry let me say that again. i did some reserch and they said the best thing to do was take it off but your not gonna get any lines if you keep it on. they give you glasses to wear so you be okay for sure. and it wont melt. you'll be okay!! sorry about that. if you have anymore questions to ask me please feel free to ask. everything people ask me is personal with them and me so if you need to talk personally please feel free to ask. hope i helped!!

I would say it's best to remove makeup, because you might not see the tan developing underneath. Or it may irritate some sensitive skin. Best to take it off anyway. No harm done. :) ]
