What advice would you give a 14 year old aspiring actress who's parents don't give a damn about her dreams, who lives out in the country, and isn't the stereotype of pretty?

My parents are the same way like they can't seem to help me with auditions and all that other stuff. And we might move to indiana so i'm just totally bummed. But they do know that I would like to act. I've told them about a THOUSAND times!! But you know, if you're parents won't help try to find auditions and things on your own. And ask your parents to at least drive your places and stuff. If you're at it alone your probably gonna have to make your own money so better start that. I love this site www.talentrock.com and one of the people in my school has been to it and been on commercials voiceovers and lots more. *RECOMMENDED* but money needs to be saved. I'm probably goin to it soon but not now. I hope you'll ask your parents because it probably builds self esteem too. And it's not impossible to be discovered at 14. Lots of stars have. So don't listen to anybody who says different. Kay hope i helped :)

At your point in life you need to start getting into the drama/theatre portion of your schooling and extra curricular activities. That is the best way to get experience, as well as look for postings online to actors and actress and well as extras and begin there. Those are quick ways to get experience that is crediable and that get you on the track in which you would like to walk down.

You don't have to be pretty to still be a good actress. Get as much practice as you can in plays or even using your voice in creative ways to read a story to kids. Hope you can achieve your dreams! BEAUTiFUL_LOVEx answered Thursday July 6 2006, 9:00 pm: I would stay. Stick with it for sure. If you wanna be an actress, do it. Seriously. If you dont you're always gonna think what if you would of.
For your parents - it always seemed like mine didnt want me to do anything. And you have to start being more independent or b/c of your age maybe find someone else that does give you time to help you, like an aunt or uncle or older sibling? or older friend.. depending on who your close to. Someone who understands, a grandparent i dont know. But when you do become rich & famous, make sure you dont give your parents the credit :]
And for the stereotype of pretty. That actually i think will help you, set you apart from the rest of the ppl at the auditions you start going to if you stick to your dream.
Well goooood luck, seriously. ♥ [ BEAUTiFUL_LOVEx's advice column | Ask BEAUTiFUL_LOVEx A Question ]
