Well it depends on how he said it if he said it while he was looking you in the eye if he does that usualy means he means it if not there is a chance he does mean it but he could not. Tell him seriously that you love him and look him in the eye. Then if he says it back while hes looking at you in the eye he means it.

Hi my name is brandy and i think he means it because boys just dont say things like that unless they mean it but if you are not sure i think next time he says i love you to you you should find some way to say "do you really mean it" and see what his answer is.

HOPE I WAS HELP

Well your both still exploring what its like to be with someone.I know its going to seem a little different at first. Its only been a week or so, let it take its course.Dont believe someone right off the bat if they say they love you.Alot of girls tend to take it for the real thing and if he is your first your going to think its real. But to tell you the truth you'll go through alot of guys. But I kinda stick to your a little to young : I dont think you guys are a little to young "love" really.

What doyou mean by "real girlfriend" or "real boyfriend"?
I mean seriously your dating isnt going to be serious your only 13 years old.

Its true you can fall in love at any age, but you cant really understand it at any age, its really more complicated than just saying your going out, and telling each other you love them, especially if you dont mean it.
He probably doesnt mean it, he probably just thinks its the right thing to say.

I'm being brutally honest here, so sorry if it sounds mean. But your extreamley young and you dont have serious relationships usually until your older and more mature.
