Friends or not?

Question Posted Sunday June 25 2006, 10:38 pm

This is mostly for girls I guess..... I went camping a while back and meet this really nice guy and we hit it off immediately...but at the point I didn't think about it. when i got home he had left me a message basiclly telling me that he really liked me and he wanted to hook up while we were camping. After a while of getting to like and know this guy, I realize that i am too young for him and we live to far away from eachother to have a relationship. The same day I told him this he gets a girlfriend. My friends say that I shouldn't talk to him and I should give him the cold shoulder, but I don't know what I'm going to do because he is coming down (a 2 hr drive) to see me, should I see him and be friends with him or should I call the trip off for him?

Sry bout length

Hi, you are quite right. It is very difficult to have a relationship so far apart from each other plus you couldn't really see each other as much as normal couples do. However I wouldn't lose your friendship with him. Who know's with a good friendship you could lead each other to a relationship and once your both old enough you could live together. Just hang onto him. This could be a guy who really likes you too. Daniel.

Dear Friend,

Interesting situation.

Don't be so childish about it - you like the guy, he's putting himself out to come see you, and you're mates. It's unfair of you to be mad that he got together with someone else after you made it clear you two weren't going anywhere. What else would you expect? For him to sit around pining for you?

You don't need to be boyfriend/girlfriend to have a relationship. Be friends! This way, at the very least, you're keeping your options open for the future. As you get older, age gaps become far less significant, and if you like him enough, it won't matter.

Love,

Ainsley.

NO! dont give him the cold shoulder. Heres why. He might have gotten mad and just gotten with this girl to get you angry. Let him think it doesnt bother you!!! HAHA. lol Be friends with him, theres nothing wrong with that!!! Besides I think he still likes ya considering he driving two hours to see you. And keep in touch with him (but sont always be the one keeping in touch let him call you up sometimes too) things might turn around. He might move or break up with this girl. You never know what is going to happen and there nothing wrong if you just stay friends. Just make sure not to mention his girlfriend ok?

GOOD LUCK
and i sure hope i helped
