Summer Job

Question Posted Saturday June 24 2006, 10:57 am

I want to get a job at Starbucks but don't know where to start. I am 16 and I printed out the application. Do I have to have previous experience? It's a catch-22, isn't it?

Also, any tips if you've previously worked for them?

I have never worked for them, so there's not much I can offer there. Some columnists below claim to have been declined due to age, and that may be. However, I know more than a few people who have held their first job at Starbucks at the age of sixteen. The website even says sixteen is the hiring age.

"What is the minimum age requirement to work at Starbucks?
You must be at least 16 years old to be eligible for employment at Starbucks. If you have questions about employment eligibility, please consult a store manager."

if you want to work at starbucks just because of the coffee aspect you should consider other coffee houses. nearly every town has a local coffee house, sometimes several. that way you have more options if starbucks turns you down on previous experience or age. "mom and pop" venues have a lot fewer rules in that regard because everyone wants to work for starbucks or seattle's best just because they're more popular.

i think you have to be 18 to work at starbucks because thats the age around where i live [ive tried getting a job there and they rejected me for being too young]

my friends sister worked there and she ended up quitting because she said that they took advantage of her and make her work long hours without break. but that could just be at the one she worked at so yeah.

hope i helped =) ♥ danielle
(rating would be appreciated please&thankyou)

You can look for job openings at:

Those are all from the starbucks website: www.starbucks.com

Heres a page written by a woman that worked there:

Some otheres:

If all these fail; google starbucks or go to your local starbucks and maybe talk with someone who works there.

GOOD LUCK AND I HOP I HELPED. :]]
