Alin75 answered Saturday June 24 2006, 6:42 pm: Exercises cannot make your legs thinner. I realise that practically no one on this site is aware of this (or they choose to live in denial), but humans are incapable of targetting fat loss. Our bodies simply dont work this way- crunches dont make you lose stomach fat, squats dont shrink your butt etc. If you dont believe me check out this link (it deals with popular exercise myths):
The only way running can help slim your legs is if it is incorporated as part of a general weight loss routine, together with proper nutrition. However, in that case you will not be losing weight specifically from your legs (as thats impossible), but rather from all over. Similarly its not the running that is doing this as such, more the fact that you are exercising (it could just as easily be an arm intensive workout).
*now remember; as with any workout; for best results you should eat healthy.
Toneteen.com is where i got it. It also has nutrition stuff on how to eat right.
