I actually got a blood test done recently, so I thought I could help you out.
It basically depends on if you are afraid of needles/shots or not. I am scared of needles, so I made my dad come in with me. When the sat me down, all I did was squeeze my dads hand and looked in his eyes the whole time so I didn't see the needle (I think looking at the needle makes you even more scared). When they put it in, it didn't hurt, but i was a really weird feeling. And after you get it done, you have a decent-size bruise for a while.
So basically it doesn't hurt and don't get worked up a lot about it, because it's only a few seconds long.
Good luck =]

I used to be so afraid of needles. About a month ago I had to get blood drawn when I was in for a check-up, and before I went in, I was shaking and being all paranoid, because I thought that it would hurt too. When I got in the room to get it done, I turned my the other way, and then they tied a band around my upper arm so that they could see the vein easier (it doesn't hurt, it's just like putting a pony tail holder around your upper arm) and then I felt a light tap on my arm, and then it was over. It takes about five seconds, and it's painless. You can feel it, but it feels more like someone is tapping on your arm instead of a needle. So no, a blood test does not hurt. If you are still scared, I'm pretty sure that a nurse will let you hold her hand. One had to do that for me. Haha.

it depends...what kind of person are you? if you are a person who does not do good with seeing blood then you may want to close your eyes. also yu might want to have a napkin in your hand to squeeze. thats my advice

The needle going in, is just a little sting. Getting the band around your arm is worse. But it's not that bad. Don't worry!!

A little bit. It's just a pinch, really. I can't look at the needle because it freaks me out. Looking away helps a lot. Honestly, I think that getting your blood pressure taken (you know, when they wrap that thing around your arm and make it insanely tight?) hurts more than getting the blood taken out with a needle. It's just a little prick and then it's over.

Not to badly, it's more or less like a quick pinch. Then when they take it the needle out, it's that same sensation again. It's one of those bearable pains, a dull annoyance really. Good luck.

It doesn't hurt that much. It's basiclly like getting a shot, just a little more pain. You should be fine with it.
