Basically, this means sucking your tummy in as far as possible and tilting your pelvis forward. Engaging your abdominal muscles during any resistant movements or aerobics (or even while you’re just walking around or sitting at your desk) makes your abs work harder, and protects your lower back too.
The problem is that the primary muscle you work when you do a crunch doesn't have much effect on flattening the abdomen. In order for it get flatter, other muscles need to come into play.
One way to do this is to put your knees over your hips, with your feet as high as your knees, while lying in a crunch position. Pull your knees toward your chest just for a second to notice how your lower back is on the floor. Now, push your knees back out over your hips until you feel like it's getting slightly difficult to keep your lower back on the floor. Try a set of crunches here, keeping your knees over your hips and not letting them creep back toward your chest. As you get stronger, just push the knees further away from your center little by little. Be mindful that your lower back needs to stay down and not arch. You will get a better strengthening effect by adding this intensity, rather than adding more reps. [ kristen22's advice column | Ask kristen22 A Question ]

But if you just lose the weight it will just be extera skin and even thoght your skinny the lose skin will still look gross. Being lazy and trying to lose the weight by diet isent gunna get you good results befor school. To be skinny you have to make a sacriface and that is puting your boby throught some challenges such as push ups, beleave me their not as bad as they seem. holahayley56 answered Thursday June 22 2006, 7:27 pm: Well.. I'm not over weight or nothing, but I wanted to get skinnier, to like a size 2. So, what I'd do.. is do the Atkins diet. All you have to do is, like eat meats & vegetables. You'll have to check into the full thing. But I lost 10 pounds in one week. But I also, drank plenty of water, and took a 2 mile walk everyday. [Personally, I like taking walks.. cute boys =)] But, my bodys also like weird.. but its guranteed 10 pounds in 2 weeks. [ you'll be shocked at how much weight that really does take off!!] Its a little hard, but if you want it bad enough.. its soooo worth it. & as long as you pick the type of meats & such you like, its all good. Hope I helped! Bye!! [ holahayley56's advice column | Ask holahayley56 A Question ]
