How much alcohol is too much? How do you know if you have been drinking too much (at one time) and if you are at serious risk of causing harm to yourself? And, what does vodka normally get mixed with?
tasuki answered Monday June 19 2006, 3:06 pm: Depends on your weight and height, and a bunch of other factors. Don't drink anything if you're under twenty-one. I would say have like, one glass of wine if you've never drank before. You will learn your limits with time, but go easy your first time. And vodka is normally mixed with Raspberry ginger ale. Well, actually, I don't know that for a fact, I just really like Raspberry ginger ale. Go to google.com and type in "vodka mix drinks". [ tasuki's advice column | Ask tasuki A Question ]
S_C answered Sunday June 18 2006, 10:22 pm: If you are under 21, any alcohol is too much. If you are of the legal drinking age, then as long as you don't past .08 you're in okay condition. I wouldn't drink too much because in can become an addiction and it can become dangerous. I would suggest (only if legally allowed) to drink just a glass or two of wine, one or two margaritas, one or two beers, something small to start with. If you're not used to drinking and you drink a large quantity, you could get sick.
And when it comes to mixing drinks, mix drinks by colored. Don't mix two alcoholic drinks that are two colors. Vodka is mixed with many things. Redbull, orange juice is a usual, everclear, some others.
But again, if you are under the age of 21 (and you live in the USA) then you are legally not allowed to drink ANY alcohol, it will mess up your life, especially if you don't drink responsibly(whether 21 or not)- trust me on that one. [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]
sbloemeke answered Sunday June 18 2006, 9:42 pm: Generally, .08 is too much, and will make you drunk. Yet, some serious harm comes at .20, which is around 6 or 7 12 oz. cans of beer, 5 oz. wine, or 1 oz. liquer. .30 usually leads to death to the unexperianced drinker.
I don't know the answer to the last question. I apologize. [ sbloemeke's advice column | Ask sbloemeke A Question ]
Razhie answered Sunday June 18 2006, 8:28 pm: How much is too much is effected by a lot of things. I personally am a 21, 130(ish) pound women who can drink about three beers and still be able to walk home, albeit in a rather curvy lines. I normally stick to two beers or cocktails in an evening (say, two in 3-4 hours.)
You know you've been drinking too much a few ways, the best one by far is to listen to the little voice in the back of your head that says "Damn girl you've had too much!". If you find yourself feeling sick to your stomach or having trouble walking without banging into something, stop drinking right away. If your friends say you've had too much, listen to them.
Also check out the information on that site about alcohol poisoning and the page called Controlling Your BAC which will help you learn how to drink smart.
Vodka can be mixed with literally hundreds of things, probably the most common is the Screwdriver (simply Vodka and Orange Juice), the Bloody Mary and the Kamikaze. DO NOT MIX COCKTAILS IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. You could make yourself, or others very sick. Mix drinks according to recipes with proper amounts, or even better, have a trusted adult help you mix drinks, my big brother taught me to mix drinks, and I taught my little sisters how do it safely too. xostarbrightbaby answered Sunday June 18 2006, 8:20 pm: When you drink to a certain point where you are tipsy and know what you are doing - stop there because after it will get worse. It really depends on how much your body can handle. You can harm yourself, causing liver problems, pancreatitis, high blood pressure, various cancers, including liver, mouth, throat, larynx (the voice box), and esophagus, and psychological disorders. Vodka is usually mixed with orange juice. ♥ [ xostarbrightbaby's advice column | Ask xostarbrightbaby A Question ]
