Click "Sounds and Audio Devices" and hit the Hardware tab on the very end. Find your speakers in the list. Then click "Troubleshoot". It will give you instructions from there. The same thing happened to me, and I just followed the instructions and everything was fine. If not, then it might be a virus like russianspy said.
itsz_JESS answered Sunday June 18 2006, 7:47 pm: maybe your plugs arent in all the way, or maybe your speakers are broken. you can buy a new one and see if that works, and if it doesnt just return it. [ itsz_JESS's advice column | Ask itsz_JESS A Question ]
russianspy1234 answered Sunday June 18 2006, 3:04 am: first off, if this is waht i think it is, you have a miner virus. scan your computer. or, go to the windows (or apple if you have a mac) site, and download a new set of sound drivers. keep the install file on your desktop, and everytime your sound cuts out, reinstall. this will let you put off the problem until you get rid of the virus. coffeexaddict answered Saturday June 17 2006, 11:12 pm: maybe someone kicked the plug for the speakers, so try to unplug it & then plug it back on. that used to happen to me all the time. hopefully a speaker didn't blow though, otherwise you'll have to buy new ones. markisdead answered Saturday June 17 2006, 1:05 am: unplug the speakers and plug them in, also make sure the speakers are plugged in. Then check your soundcard (if you have one) and try going to onboard sound. [ markisdead's advice column | Ask markisdead A Question ]
