finger web piercing

Question Posted Sunday June 11 2006, 1:18 am

I just got my finger web pierced (between my thumb and index finger)

Does anybody know what the healing time is and what is best to clean it with? I completely forgot what the piercer said. I know not to use alcohol or peroxide but does bedadine work? or sea salt dissolved in warm water?

I suspect the healing time may be 10-14 days provided that you don't get an infection. You can buy antiseptic wound cleanser at the pharmacy, betadine is rather messy and if you don't get it all off will it leave your skin orange. Since the webs of our fingers are not as exposed as the remainder of our hand the most important thing would be to keep the area dry and open to the air.

That sounds painful. I'm not sure if bedadine would work. But a sea salt or saline solution would work fine. Also try Bactine to keep the bacteria out of it. Since this peircing is unusual and I cannot find much information on it i would say it will probably heal anywhere from 1.5 to 4months (more or less i suppose) Hope I helped and that is a very unique peircing.

The average healing time is about six weeks, but because your hands are constantly in use with various chemicals and elements, it may take a little longer. To clean the piercing I suggest you use a saline solution (salt water). Wear a pair of rubber gloves when you wash up and if possible wear some latex gloves doing such activities as gardening. Betadine can also work but saline is easier and cheaper. Good luck.

well i got my nose peirced, which i know isnt the same thing but what they told me i could clean mine with is sea salt dissolved in water. so im guessing you could use that too because it cleans the peircings. yeah definetly dont use alcohol or peroxide because that closes the peircing. you could also try using an antimicrobial soap to clean it with. hope i helped. ♥ terri
