okay so i am 118 lb girl who recently got a hip problem. (idk maybe that information can help)
Recently, my right hip was hurting. Then on friday at school, walking to my 2nd period, it gave out, and now every time i take a step with my right leg (it's my right hip) it pops. I have already confronted my doctor, and they said that it will just pop back in and be fine. It's been poping with just about every step i take since and during Friday.
My question is, is there any way to pop it back in, sort of painlessly? And if not, about how long do you think it takes for it to pop back in, rough guesses are ok.

I'd go back to the docter and tell him that you are in a lot of pain and ask him to pop it back in for you. It will probably only hurt for a split second. If you are really scared of the pain, then ask for a shot to numb that area and then ask him to pop it back in.
Good luck :] [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]

Nallie answered Sunday June 4 2006, 4:00 pm: I would guess that at one time you've had some type of injury to the tendons or ligaments, and in addition the muscles around your hip may be weak. Until you strengthen these muscles, you may continue to feel the hip popping. If the Dr didn't do an xray, It would be good to ask for one. You want to make sure there is nothing else going on, like a congenital problem with the joint. I think perhaps a chiropractor would be a good choice for you, he/she can give you some tips on how to keep the hip in place and strengthen the muscles. In addition he/she will probably do an x-ray, and refer you to an ortho if needed. [ Nallie's advice column | Ask Nallie A Question ]
