Tomorrow is a trip with my friends to a really fun theme park. We've been planning it for a long time, as a celebration of our graduation. Now I'm on my period and I really don't want to have to miss the trip! It was my idea and it's going to be so fun! Mom says I can just avoid water rides and I'll be fine but the water rides are the best part!!! And I usually feel really gross & sick when I'm on my period. Besides, everyone will pressure me to do it & call me no fun if I won't ride them. I'm embarrassed to say "oh I'm on my period" in front of my guy friends. That's nasty. I'd use a tampon but those never work for me. I leak every freakin' time! So I don't know whether I should skip it or go & feel left out & sick. I'm so afraid the day will be diappointing. I hate being a girl.
InsaneSanityBabi answered Monday May 29 2006, 6:52 pm: hey hey hey.... if you're leaking.... than that means you dont change your tampon enough... try kotex, or tampax heavy. don't use normal flow tampons if you consantly leak through.... and if you feel sick, than use midol, it will more than likely work, and if you feel sick use ONE dramamine (it helps calm your stomache) well... good luck, and i hope you can still have fun! If you get the extra absorbant ones, they should be alright on the roller coasters and stuff. Just use a tampon if you're going to be in the water and for the water rides. It's not a big deal to just go change it in the bathroom afterwards. You shouldn't leave your tampon in for more than a few hours. [ devilspawn_666's advice column | Ask devilspawn_666 A Question ]
xoxDaneCookRox answered Saturday May 27 2006, 4:36 pm: aww that suckss! Just wear a more obsorbent tampon or a bigger size so you dont leak. And for the sickness, take some midol it works great.
ii_llove_yuu answered Saturday May 27 2006, 3:30 pm: ugh .. that totally sucks. we have a school field trip coming up to boston where we room with other people and i think i am going to be on my period and it's going to suck, and there's not much u can do. but here's what i will suggest:
although you don't think tampons work, wear a tampon with a pad underneath. if it looks weird with your bathing suit, just wear shorts with it and bring a spare pair just incase.
also, you can tell your girl friends in advance bcause if it's a big group it's likely one of them will have the same problem. they won't pressure you to go on rides that way, and if the guys try to then your friends will know how to help you out so they don't know.
and for feeling sick .. i suggest taking midol before you go and bringing some extra, just incase you don't feel good. drink a lot of water, and if you have it today just exercise a lot today in order to make it go faster. i hope this works for you!
good luck !!

DancinCutie08 answered Saturday May 27 2006, 3:09 pm: Try wearing a tampon (a heavier one that usual) then wear a mini pad with it just incase you leak because you really wont feel it. or you can try just changing your tampon every 2 hours or so to prevent leaking [ DancinCutie08's advice column | Ask DancinCutie08 A Question ]
Vikki27 answered Saturday May 27 2006, 2:18 pm: Unfortunately, this close to the date, there is really nothing else you can do. However, for future reference, you can get a pill from your Doctor that will delay your period. You start taking it a few days before you are due and then take one every day until you are ready for your period. [ Vikki27's advice column | Ask Vikki27 A Question ]
