Well, it will slow your tan down, but it prevents sunburn. It doesn't slow you down THAT much anyways, I'd say use it...because it's not worth getting burned.
hope i helped! :]

I'm fairly sure that sunscreen doesn't prevent you from tanning, because I wear sunscreen everyday and I still have a tan.

Use high SPF sunscreen (at least 30) if you know that you burn easily. If you're naturally white, you might simply be unable to get a tan. Try to go out at times when it's sunny but not in direct sunlight.

Sunscreen doesn't prevent you from getting a tan. If you want to get a tan, get tanning OIL not screen. Tanning oil is oily and will help attract the sun to your skin.

Make sure you put on sunscreen about 15-20 minutes before you go outside, so you won't get burned. Also, getting too much of a tan can also be bad for your skin.

You should always wear sunscreen. It doesn't block everything, just reduces the rays that get to you. If you were in the sun for an hour and didn't wear sunscreen, that'd be the same as going in the sun for 30 hours with SPF 30.

Any skin changes by the sun, tanning or burning, come from harmful rays and are technically bad for you, but if you slow down and are careful about things then you're less likely to burn and therefore a little safer.

My advice? If you're going to be in the sun all afternoon, be safe and stick with the 30. If you're only going to be out for a little while, or later in the day, use 10 or 15. I'm pretty white, too, and like to keep both SPFs around the house... 10 for going to the pool after work, 45 for going on a canoe trip all day, you know?

hey. if you put sunscreen on before you go outside, that does not prevent you from getting a tan. it is just to protect your skin from harmful rays. my advice would be to use a SPF 10-15 sunscreen. when you go outside to tan, stay out for about 20 minutes, come inside or about 5 minutes and then go back out. repeat this. this will allow your skin to soak in the rays so you wont get burnt. hope this helps!! :) ♥ ♥ ♥
