blister hey, this is kind of a gross question, but does anyone know how to treat a blister? Mine is from a burn. Its all filled with liquid. It doesn't hurt, I was just wondering. Some people have told me to pop it and bandage it, some people have told me to just leave it. I need to know how to treat it properly. Thanks. I will rate high for helpful answers.

isis is right, never pop a blister. If it is in a place where it is likely to pop if it gets bumped, you could see the Dr and he/she can pop it under sterile conditions, debride it and give you some medicine. Otherwise the best option is to cover it with a loose dressing. When it does pop on it's own, and they usually do or the fluid is reabsorbed and the blister will go down, apply antibiotic ointment and a bandage. Keep it clean and dry for now. If you are concerned about scarring I would certainly see a doc. ]
NEVER pop a blister, it's there for a reason. It's your body's way of trying to heal itself, the serum inside is protecting and healing the injured part.
If you pop it you are more than likely to get an infection in it and it will take a lot longer to heal and possibly scar.
The best thing is to leave it alone, if it is in a place where it is likely to get damaged, cover it lightly with a plaster or gauze and tape. leave it uncovered at night so it can heal quicker.
Hope that helps. ]
If it doesn't hurt, don't pop it. Popping a blister should only be done if it's in a place where pressure is put on it frequently, and once the skin is broken you'd have to be really careful to keep it clean and steril so it doesn't get infected. Let it go and it'll heal on its own. ]
Do NOT pop it. The water in the blister is what is keeping the burnt skin cool. If you pop it..its gonna hurt.
The skin underneath the blister is actually healing while the blister protects it from further damage and infection.
Use sterile petroleum jelly and a light gauze wrap to protect it until it bursts on its own (this can take days).
Once burst, remove the collapsed skin from the blister with gentle washing and sterile tweezers.
Put more petroleum jelly and gauze over it until it heals up. ]
The best thing to do is to wash it with soap and water and put a bandaid on it. Switch the bandaids on it everyday. Put neasporin on it so it don't get infected. ]
I suggest to leave it alone, it will pop by itself hopefully.
