I'm gonna make this short and simple. Hopefully the answer is simple too. Is it possible to get pregnant from being fingered if the guy has cum(even dried) on his hands/fingers?

Q. How long can sperm live outside the male body? I was wondering if you had an answer to a question my girlfriend has been asking me. I want to know how long sperm (in semen) can live outside the male body? That is, can they live in room temperature and are they still active or do they die as soon as they leave the male body (ie. not ejaculating inside a female)?
A. Sperm are thought to retain fertilizing capability for up to 48 hours once they have entered the female genital tract, but it's possible their lifespan is even longer. Sperm production by the testicle takes about 90 days; the immature sperm are then deposited in a receptacle called the epididymis. They remain there until the time of ejaculation, when they undergo further maturation and develop their swimming ability. We do not know exactly how long they live once they reach maturity. Optimal semen specimens occur with ejaculation every two or three days. As the length of time between ejaculation increases, the percentage of normal, motile sperm in a semen sample progressively decreases. Repeated ejaculations at intervals of 24 hours or less may result in sperm depletion and a drop in numbers of 30 percent or more. Muscular contractions usually diminish with subsequent orgasms, which also contributes to lower sperm volumes and counts.
So how long do sperm live outside the body? It depends upon the environment. In a warm moist environment - possibly many hours; for a dry environment - they may just die straight away. Remember that you can have your sperm stored frozen for many years now by private companies. There are some Urban Myths about people becoming pregnant after bathing in the same water as a male who ejaculated into the water.
I think your question actually asks if you ejaculate outside of the woman then is this an effective contraception? The answer is plainly no. Coitus interuptus as it is known is very risky business indeed. Although much sperm is carried in the ejaculate, sperm is lost prior to ejaculation as well. Sperm just loves the female genital tract and will live there for hours. The old unsuccessful contraceptive method of post intercourse douching is now totally out of favour because of this reason.
For contraception - get good advice and reduce your risk.. The sperm's only job is to get a baby started and they are rather clever at that!
MHScutie87 answered Sunday May 21 2006, 7:58 pm: Yes, it is definitely possible. Sperm can live for awhile outside of the penis or vagina. Look for the usual signs, and if you don't get your period when you are supposed to, then you can go to planned parenthood for a pregnancy test.
