punk4lyfe answered Thursday May 11 2006, 6:12 pm: hey. dont worry about your period. you will get it soon enough. as soon as you do you will want to give it back. believe me. but yeah for your mom. i was the same way. i thought about how do i tell her and things. when it happens you just do. it really isnt a big deal. just relax and enjoy not having a period. i know people who dont start til 16,17,18
its nothing unusal.
some start early. some start late.
it just depends.
and when you do get your period.
just tell your mom straight up.
dont try and hide it or nothing.
you think you are gonna feel embrassed(that was how i was)
but when the day came
i just told her straight up. i wasnt scared/embrassed at all!

loves2shop86 answered Thursday May 11 2006, 1:32 am: hey! aaww ok don't worry that you didn't get it yet... it's not a problem, you are still young and there is still time. just enjoy yourself before it comes lol. but as far as telling your mom... yeah i was like that, and a lot of girls are. but just work up the courage to talk about it... i mean it's just a period, no big deal, you can talk to her about it! im sure she wants to talk to you about it too and she is just as nervous! it's really not a big deal at all... just go up to her one day, or bring it up in the middle of a conversation. say something like "hey mom how old were you when you got your period" or something casual like that. a lot of times girls get their period around the same age their mom got it, so that will help you. then you can bond with her even more by asking her if she was scared, if she gets bad cramps, if she prefers pads over tampons... stuff like that! it's really not a big deal, so keep thinking of it that way. the more you make it a big deal, the more nervous you will be about talking to her about it! but there is nothign better than being close to your mom... it makes life so much easier, so go ahead and ask! as soon as you get the first sentence out, it will be soo easy to talk to her after that!! :) good luck! streetcarp answered Wednesday May 10 2006, 9:32 pm: some people don't even start until they're 18!
it's nothing to worry about yet, and believe me you should be GLAD you don't have it yet.
when you do get it, there is no reason you need to discuss it with your mom, however growing up it is good to have feminine support. whether you wish to discuss it with her or not is completely up to you.
xomegaroni answered Wednesday May 10 2006, 9:29 pm: it's not really that normal, but not abnormal if that makes sense. i know a few people that didn't get it who were 16 so their mom took them to the gyno & they got a pill for it. definately tell your mom. she probably knows since you don't use pads/tampons though so there's nothing to worry about. she is a girl & went through this too like almost every other girl. she knows you'll talk to her about it sooner er later. she's expecting that since you're a girl.
