well your topic would be really good, or you could do drugs and teenagers...if you are against it that is. also eatting disorders might be a good one as well

i'm doing a research paper on teen issues. the topic i chose was eating disorders. so far i've twritten 4 pages on it. i think this is a really good topic to write about and there are tonnnnns of references so it won't be hard to come up with things to write. also, there are more than just one eating disorder so it gives you different paragraphs.

I had a similar essay for an english class and i did mine on teenage self injury which is when mostly teens injure themselves like cutting, carving, burning and other selfinjuries i got an A minus and i really liked my easy to and i felt that it was very differant from the others in class an its a very deep subjact when you get to the real meaning of why people do that to themselves (dont get this twisted its not suiside 'its a way to relieve themselves from stressfull situations)

I think you could write a essay on that if you wanted to, but I wouldn't look at the pros and cons on it. There aren't too many pros about it. You'd be better off concentrating on why teen pregnancy is a common thing, ways to educate teenagers, and that kind of thing.

Instead of that though, how about writing on bullying? You could look at it from both sides. For example, what causes people to bully others, different types of bullying, and the effects of bullying on people. You could also look at how it's escalated into school violence in recent times.
I think that's a good one to do, as not many people will do it, but it's an issue facing a lot of young people today that doesn't get enough attention.

Good luck with your essay. :)

I would say a pretty big teenage problem is abusive relationships, and people might not think to write on that, even if it is known.

The problem is, if it's a social issue, it's known, or else it couldn't really be a social issue. Maybe you should look up the meaning of social issue.

You could also write on teenage drinking/drug use, date rape drugs at high school parties, or bullying/peer pressure.

I'd say its definitly possible to write an essay about that topic, and it's a very good one. As you were thinking, there are many pros and cons. Some being more obvious then others.

A few social issues are STDs, love and communication, sexual difficulties, contraception, sexual violence. There's many more but those are just a few that are related to many teens. But there's also the war, gas price issues..those are probably the higher thinking ones i guess.

If you have any other quiestions feel free to ask!
