foods that increase your metabolism my subject basically says it all.
Does anyone know what foods to eat when you're trying to eat healthy and need to eat stuff that increases your metabolism? I've heard grape fruit and green tea, but what more?

There's no foods that increase your metabolism. it's a myth. Packages on foods may say "This increases metabolism," but it is a general prediction, and actually does not increase your metabolism.The only thing that might increase it are dangerous pills, that you should tlak to your doctor about before taking.
You know what? Go ahead and rate me a 3 or a 1. You rated alot of my friends 3s and they gave great advice. If you ask me, you're pretty lazy because why can't you just google it? Rate me a 3 because I admit my advice wasn't that great, but do not ever again rate some of these great columnists below a 3 because they did not give you the "exact answer you wanted." ]
first off, breakfast helps. dont skip breakfast. have a big healthy breakfast. scramble an egg with toast or something. the best foods to increase your metabolism and help you lose weight are fish, dark green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, blueberries and other fruits, whole grains, and at least 8 glasses of water a day. increase dietary fiber as well and limit sugary foods, alcohol, caffeine and don't smoke. for more information on that kinda stuff go here [ [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) ] its a really good website and actually i learned alot too, so thanks. =)

Well, apart from certain foods, excersizing and how you plan your meals regulate your metabolism too. A good amount of excersize, and more regular, small meals throughout the day increase your metabolism, as opposed to a few big meals.
As far as what foods, there aren't really any that specifically increase your metabolism, sorry. Some foods require more energy to break down, which could result in it, but.. theres a 'catabolic diet' that has mainly those foods, you can do a google on that if you'd like.

The best foods to increase your metabolism and help you lose weight are fish, dark green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, blueberries and other fruits, whole grains, and at least 8 glasses of water a day. As you are alreasy aware, greentea and grapefruit helps and lemons as well. A good idea is to put 1/2 of lemon juice from a freshly squeezed lemon in hot water every morning before you eat anything and every night before you go to bed as it speeds up your metabolism and rmoves toxins from yur body. It tastes horrible at first but once you get used to it, its not that bad and trust me, it works wonders!

I'm not positive, but I think carbohydrates might help. Pasta, crackers, and bread. Those foods will give you more energy so you're able to be active more and burn more calories and fat. I think I heard somewhere that carbohydrates helped your metabolism. I know there are certain pills and vitamins you can take that help to speed up your metabolism, you might want to google it.
