Heyya ! :)
I was just wondering, how many minutes a day would I have to jump rope to lose weight? Consider that I'm also eating healthy and walking 30 minutes to school, and 30 minutes back. How much would I lose in a week? month? year? if I kept going with this excersize/diet.

It really works. I did I lost 10 pounds and 9 inches off my waist. I was pure fat. A lot of people lose wight. you don't even have to buy the whole set of videos you can just buy one. Now, rather than look at it that way, try a different approach. Consider that it is not healthy to lose more than a couple of pounds a week. So, if you are doing everything right, aim to lose just that.... 2lbs/week. If you are losing much less, then you need to eat a few less calories or be a bit more active.
As for the second part of your question, start with some non strenuous activity. Warming up doesnt have to take much more than five minutes or so. Of most relevance are the muscles you are about to be using. In this case it should be mainly your legs and arms, but to some extent pretty much your whole body. I would suggest a slow jog.
Once you have warmed up (and not before) you should stretch your muscles. Here are some stretches intended for runners, but they should be just as useful for you:

Don't jump rope if you're trying to get flatter abs, because obviously you'll need to do situps for that. But jump roping burns some calories, so I'd have to say if you want to get real results, maybe an hour every day. That sounds like alot of jump roping, so you might want to ride a bike or take a walk around your neighborhood also.
Before you jump rope, you should probably stretch your legs out. Just sit down and stretch your legs out to each side and try and touch your toes. You may also want to jog in place or do a slow run around your block.
