Are you talking about this: <3 ?? <3 - that means love. Your friend could say it just because they "love you in a friendly way." Or your boyfriend/girlfriend could say it to you and it may mean "I love you." So basically, it's supposed to be a little sideways heart that means love.

I was thinking that you had >3 mistaken for <3. But if you didn't, I think that this: >3 might mean a broken heart or possibly a fish?

Sorry this was so confusing.
