If you're very light, try choosing a medium tanner instead of a deep tanner (if this is what you did) and put only a small bit on. The point is to BUILD the tan over time. That eliminates the problem of streaking and appearing orange. Also, make sure your skin is moisturized (best to apply after a shower). [ Vanity's advice column | Ask Vanity A Question ]
Tickle-Me-Pink answered Thursday April 27 2006, 8:02 pm: the orange color will fade but it might take a couple days if it hasnt faded in time for your bonfire try rubbing baking powder over moist skin, do not use an exfoliator you will just end up scrubing really hard and making your skin bright red. To remove the tanner, try using a lemon slice and rub it over the orange or uneven areas. The citric acid in a lemon will remove the orangish color from your skin. Sounds weird, but it works.
Then if you start over with the tanner, remember to exfoliate and mosturize your body using a body scrub. This will also make your skin more even.
Or do you think that maybe it was just the tanner that was bad? Try getting a new brand of self tanner! I sugguest Almay Sunless Tanning Mist. It's $10 and it works pretty good.
