I'm a 17 year old female and I need some advice about getting my nails done for prom. I've never had them done before, so I don't even know what to expect. What I want is a french manicure on the arcryllic nails. Is this what I ask for when I go to the salon? And how long do my real nails have to be in order to have the fake ones put on?
TinkerbellsHelp answered Tuesday April 25 2006, 8:51 pm: When you come in and you are waited on, just say you want a french manicure with the acryllics. Its pretty easy. Oh, and if they make a mistake or if something doesnt look good, tell them. You are paying them to do your nails right. It doesnt matter how long your nails are. (Unless you have them longer than the acryllics which would be super long.)

Also it doesn`t matter the length ha ha..I bite my real nail so short && they are still able to do them..So don`t worry about that..
BellaItaliana166 answered Monday April 24 2006, 11:51 pm: when i got arcyllic nails it was painted white already. And when they put it on, the paint doesnt come off at all. its basically plastic so you cant bite them at all. and your nails dont have to be a certain length to get them. Have fun at prom!!!=]] [ BellaItaliana166's advice column | Ask BellaItaliana166 A Question ]
cheerbabe22 answered Monday April 24 2006, 10:40 pm: it doesnt matter the length of your nails at all, take it from somebody who bites theirs really short. Just say you want arcyllic nails put on and ask for a french. If you want something really cute, ask they to air brush on some french designs, i like them for fancy things such as prom [ cheerbabe22's advice column | Ask cheerbabe22 A Question ]
MyHappyShoe answered Monday April 24 2006, 10:17 pm: Just say "I need a full set, french tips" and they usually clip your nails before they start so it doesn't matter how long your real nails are. When they start to do your nails it might hurt the sides of your fingers if you've never had them done and the stuff they put on right before they put on the powder kind of stings if you have a cut. Don't worry about questions you have to ask. Go with the flow. Just tell them it's your first time and they will ask you exactly what you want along the way. Pheobe answered Monday April 24 2006, 9:57 pm: You ask for a "ful set" they will put on the acryllic tips and usually they automaticly do a french manicure, but ask just to be sure.
your real nails dont have to be any particuar length for them to put on tips, they can do it even if you have any length to you actual nail.
