I am always getting the hiccups. Always! Sometimes when I hiccup its only just once then i get them again and then its just once. Then at different times when i get the hiccups i get several and they dont go away for quite sometime. I know this sounds stupid.. but could this be a bad thing?
isis answered Thursday April 20 2006, 12:37 pm: It's not usually a serious thing unless you can't stop for a very long time, then you need to see a doctor. It's your diaphragm going into spasm. It could be caused by indigestion etc.
If you want them to stop, a method i've found always works is to fill a glass or cup right up to the brim, bend over it and drink from the opposite side of the glass. Don't go down so far though that the water goes up your nose instead of down your throat. It works due to the compression on the diaphragm from bending over, whilst using your swallowing reflexes. Good luck. [ isis's advice column | Ask isis A Question ]

So take a glass of water, then put a paper towel over the top, and drink the water through the paper towel[I recommend doing it over the sink, it leaks sometimes :P]
But make such you do not burp afterwards or they will come back.
And I don't believe this is dangerous. I get them all the time! And that always works for me :]
