RAZAAAA BUMPS?

Question Posted Monday April 17 2006, 9:49 pm

I shaved my legs the other day and they were smooth and nothing was wrong. About an hour later, when i was at the pool, i noticed there was razor bump looking things on my legs.

They are red and itchy. I don't know what they are or how i can get rid of them. What dooo i do?

okay its simple you just got razor burn, so next time you shave make sure (this is critical) that you put a lotion like vaseline intensive care (works good for me) on your legs after you shave. you can probably get it at any drugstore/k-mart/target but most likely the drugstore so try that. im sorry you had to go through that it isnt fun at all and it hurts. so make sure to put lotion on next time! hope i helped!

Now, nothing.
powder might work a bit.

Next time, wipe your legs with alcohol after you shave for about three times during that day.

Chlorine. Pools have a high level of chlorine (a chemical, obviously), and since you had just shaved your legs, your hair follicles were probably still open, and the chlorine got inside and irritated the skin.

Try a shaving lotion, or a different type of lotion or powder meant for irritated skin. If it doesn't go away in a few days, possibly ask a dermatologist.

hey, the pool either irratated your legs or you had some type of illurgic reaction. to prevent the ichyness use bennadrill ich cream. to make your legs smoother use skinmate babysoft ( the blue bottle ). cait ♥

i agree with what the person below me said... do that when you get the razor burn, and it will help get rid of it faster. but in the future, to prevent this, make sure to shave at least a couple of hours before going in the pool or ocean. your legs become sensitive after they have just been shaved, so exposing them to chlorine or salt water right away is bound to make them itchy, red, and painful! hope that helps! :)

The chlorine in the pool might have irritated you legs. You should try some hydrocortisone cream--this is a thicker ointment type of stuff that is good for itchy skin and rash-like irritation. Or maybe some other type of lotion--like Gold Bond. I get very dry itchy skin in the winter and the gold bond powder really helps.
