How often should you change your pads?
I get my period heaviest the first two days.
Are tampons comfortable? I'm petite.. and I dance so I think using a pad would be uncomfortable while I'm dancing..
Should I use a tampon when I'm dancing? OR can I just use a pad?
Can you swim with a pad?
usually on lighter days i only need to change it twice
and i find tampons comfortable 95% of the time. i am also short and i dance but i wear slim fit tampons because they are much more comfortable to wear while dancin over pads
confusedbabii answered Saturday April 15 2006, 7:49 pm: you should use a tampon when you're dancing. it'll be more comfortable.
you cannot use a pad while swimming. it'll be really really messy.
you should change your pads whenever it starts to get uncomfortable.
i would actually suggest tampons because they're more comfortable and you can do more in them.

the longest i think you should leave on a pad is like 2 hours specially when its really heavy! but if its not heavy then 3 and a half!
tampons are soo much comfortable to wear! exspeicaly if your gonna be dancing! PADS are annoying as crap to me! if you havent worn a tampon yet! i suggest Tampax pearls plastic!! i wouldnt use cardbored its like harder to me!! but yeah
only leave a tampon in for about 2 hours no more becuase you could get TSS for leaving a tampon in to long!
i wear tampons durring the day then ate night i wear a pad to bed!
and no you cant swim with a pad! thats why you should get use to tampons there more comfortable to do things in! *when you know how to use them right* and you can swim in a tampon!!
trina answered Saturday April 15 2006, 5:22 pm: well no you cant use a pad to swim only tampons and you should change your pad when ever you feel you need to really it depends on how heavy your flow is and in dancing you can use a pad or a tampon tampons are kind of hurtful the first month but it gets much easer. loves2shop86 answered Saturday April 15 2006, 5:16 pm: hey! ok changing your pad... well if your period is really really heavy, then you should do it every 2 hours or so... you will know when you go to the bathroom depending on how much is on it. But if it's not heavy, you can go a couple of hours and it will be no problem! Just look to see if the pad seems full and not dry... if it feels that way, then change it! Also if you try tampons, make sure to use pads overnight because it's better for you not to use a tampon ALL the time, and especially over night for 8 hours or more!
Tampons are very very comfortable... you will not be able to feel it! If you can feel it the first time you put it in... then you put it in wrong and it's not up far enough! take it out and try again with another one! I use playtex slimfits... they are small and easy to get in!! very comfortable and a great idea for dance class! it won't feel like you have your period! pads are very uncomfortable for that! try a tampon and see!
Lastly, no you cannot swim with a pad! it will probably show through your bathing suit... and it will absorb all the water in the pool and become soggy, heavy and basically gross! lol but you CAN swim with a tampon on... no problem! hope i helped!
Oh remember to change your tampon every 4 to 6 hours! and if your period is really heavy, then you may need to do it more often... or it will leak! it is a good idea to wear a very thin panty liner as well, just in case! also, make sure to use the smallest absorbency possible! my period only lasts about 3 days, and it's pretty light, so i use REGULAR tampons! try those... if they don't hold up, then switch to super! :) good luck! xomegaroni answered Saturday April 15 2006, 4:43 pm: i change mine every 1-2 hours. usually it is heavier in the beginning. i guess it depends on the person. i never tried tampons, only because im a huge germophob & they freak me out. i heard at first they're really weird & uncomfortable, but you get used to them. to start, maybe try the tampon for activities & use the pad when you're at home & school er something. you definately can't swim with a pad. tampons would be good for swimming.
