Your dog sounds like it has cherry eye. it is common in a breed like your dog. It is a gland in the eye and can be fixed. The vet can try using eye drops to reduce the swelling. If that does not help he may want to do surgery.

I'm not a vet, but...

That sounds like something that happened to a dog I had once. It was called "cherry eye" and wasn't dangerous in itself, but it's irritating to the dog, and can cause the dog to damage their own eye by pawing at it. Plus it's rather ugly to look at too. :-

Take a look at these Google search images and see if this looks like your problem (Warning: unpleasant images):

The surgery to have it removed is simple. I don't remember it costing too much, either. So check with your vet!

my dog had that too when he got older!

i forget what its called!
well i heard it had something to do with getting older but i dont think your dog is TOOO old:p..

i would take ur dog to the vet just to make sure!!
because it could cause other problems in the future if not taken care of!!

Well, I don't know what it is, but I would take your dog to the vet right away. The vet can answer all of your questions and properly medicate the dog. Good luck with everything!

It might not be that serious, but you should take the dog to a vet right away.

Good Luck

I would take you dog to the vet immediately. It could lead to far worse problems, such as blindness. It could also be very painful for you dog. Ineither case, it should be looked at. It will be a lot cheaper for the visit and medicine than to have surgery. Trust me, my mom waited too long to have a lump on my dog's belly looked and and we ended up having to put him to sleep because it was cancer.
