I read them out of order and it made sense fine to me. Nice choice of books ;)

You don't HAVE to start with the first one, but it's better to so you know who the characters really are but in each one it normally starts out with a different situation, so either way really.

I have never read those series of books but COMMON SENSE would tell me that its only logical to read the first one FIRST!

It would be good to read the first one, but I started with the second and I understood it just as well as the people who started with one. Its not that big a deal.

actually, with gossip girl, you dont need to read in order. because each book almost starts some whole new, story line; per say. i started with book six, then read book five, and i caught on one chapter in.

ok any book like that you would need to read the first one to get it... like harry potter for example.
