Additional info, added Friday April 14 2006, 11:09 am: don't even answer if you haven't read the books. it's not always a common sense thing. sometimes in a series books will start out new in each book.

xEVYx answered Friday April 14 2006, 2:12 pm: You don't HAVE to start with the first one, but it's better to so you know who the characters really are but in each one it normally starts out with a different situation, so either way really.
4everMyself2 answered Thursday April 13 2006, 11:51 pm: I have never read those series of books but COMMON SENSE would tell me that its only logical to read the first one FIRST!
soccerplayer5674 answered Thursday April 13 2006, 8:53 pm: It would be good to read the first one, but I started with the second and I understood it just as well as the people who started with one. Its not that big a deal.
livingLIKEloversxx answered Thursday April 13 2006, 8:50 pm: actually, with gossip girl, you dont need to read in order. because each book almost starts some whole new, story line; per say. i started with book six, then read book five, and i caught on one chapter in.
