I would like to personally kick in the teeth any piercer who told you to take out the jewelry when your piercing was infected.

If it is infected, DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT take out the jewelry. It can close up around the infection and cause a much more serious problem.

Chances are it's not infected, just irritated. If it was infected, you should have gone to a doctor and gotten antibiotics for it.

Don't use bactine to clean it. Sea salt soaks are the best and, in my opinion, only good way to care for piercings. You may have been using the wrong proportion of sea salt to warm water, though, and that could cause problems. If you taste the solution, it should only be about as salty as your tears, no more.

Here's a website for everything you would ever want to know about piercings and other body modifications: www.bmezine.com

this exact thing happend to my friend but as annoying as it is theres nothing you can do except wait. Belly button piercings take the longest to heal and it will be about 1 to 2 yrs before it heals completely and you can get it redone. And, unfortunately, there will be a scar

My belly ring got infected as well. It took about a year to completely heal. Now I have a scar there and will eventually get it repierced. Just make sure while it's healing to keep it clean so when it closes up you won't have an infection anymore.

My situation was my belly ring got really infected and my body rejected it to the point where it wore through the skin. It took two years to almost fully heal from that. I'm afraid your gonna have to wait like a year or so till its just a scar. Then they'll have to peirce the scar tissue.
I know that's majorly frusterating cause you want it now, like I did, but you will probably have to forget about for a while. Try getting another peircing... That's what I did. I moved from the belly ring to an eyebrow ring to my now monroe.

Good Luck doll.
