When I try to use my Limewire, it says that it is behind a firewall. The global icon with a brick on it is at the bottom.
How do I get the firewall off of Limewire? I went into the firewall settings and on the Exceptions log limewire is checked.
Is there anything I can do?

Basicly any firewall or NAT device like a router will put limewire into firewall mode. Limewire does not actually have a firewall built into it, thats why you cant turn it off from limewire. Examine how your computer connects to the internet, if you plug your modem into your computer and you have no firewall software running, check if your windows firewall is on. If your modem connects to a router or another computer and then that router/computer connects to you, then you are using what is called Network Address Translation (NAT) and to limewire thats the same as a firewall. In any case, no firewall or NAT will effect limewire, and you wont get any other kind of weird effects on your connection by running limewire then you get when you don't run it, aside from the decreased bandwidth from downloading stuff. Hope this helps. [ mundokiir's advice column | Ask mundokiir A Question ]
