jransom143 answered Sunday July 30 2006, 6:18 am: My daughter started teething between 5-6 mos. I used to freeze wet washclothes and let her gnaw on them for a while, also you could try Baby Oragel or tylenol if the baby develops an ear infection (some do when teething, my mother says all 5 of her kids did). Teething rings are a big help, pretty much just give the baby something to chew on because the pressure on their gums helps push the teeth through and then they don't hurt as bad. Hope this helps. The gums will look a little inflammed and you can feel ridges where the teeth are trying to come through. I always noticed that my kids drooled more when they were teething so kept a bib on them while they were awake. Aside from cold teething rings you can try the "baby ora gel" but you have to be careful so the baby doesn't swallow it because it can diminish the gag reflex. You can also place a wet wash cloth in the freezer and get it semi frozen..the baby will chew on this and it helps.
Short_N_Punky answered Friday April 7 2006, 11:14 am: They ussually start teething like around 8 months or so. But to sooth the pain you can rub different things on there gums or get them crackers or teething rings but not always do the rings work. My son when he was going through teething i felt so bad for him because he was always crying but i got animal crackers and he would chew on them and it stopped the pain. I hope iv helped a little good luck and write back id like to know how it turns out. Ps. Something hard to chew on is always the best bet.

to ease the pain theres soo many things you can do..
-Ice teething rings.. (put them into the freezer so there cold and it soothes the burning in cheeks and gums from the teeth breaking through)
-Teething powder.. (you just pour it into the mouth)
-Teething gel (rubber onto gums)
-Teething medicine
-Whisky.. yes the alcohol.. the old remedy (my mum used to do this to me and my brother) a little whisky... rubbed onto gums.. dont worry the baby wont get drunk cos u only use a little..

Now to sooth the pain there are teething tablets. They are round white tablets that dissolve in their moth. Thats the exact name of them. Also, use the ice teethers. That helps a lot.
