Should I go for it?
I like this boy who is 4 years older than me. I am 13 years old.He has alot of respect for me and everyone else. I think he likes me. Today he gave me a heart from his fingers and was trying to hug me. He is really funny.He doesn't go with anybody.I don't know if I should go with him because of the age difference. Should I go for it or what?

ok well im 15 and used to like this 19 year old. he was my brothers best friend so i saw him all the time. he at one point even liked me back. he even told me. but nuthing ever happened. my advice: go for it. i wish i did. he told me he loved me but i just told him to stop. he broke my heart soo many times during last year. and now he doesnt care at all about me. so i warn you cuz your guy is older than you and probably more experience you dont kno what will happen. i really hope this helps.

i really dont think so. at 13, i dated a guy one year older than me, and even that was difficult because he was more experienced and since i was young "wanted to teach me things". he was super nice and sincere, but when i think about it, the age thing just made him seem more in control and i kinda just followed his every move. it doesnt seem like it would affect you, but you feel kinda like you ahve to follow his role and he knows more than you. especially a 4 year age difference-thts huge when your in teenage years. im sorry but i think it would be in your best interest for you to stay with your own age group. ps 18 year old goin out w/ younger could be like date rape.

I give alot of my friends a hug every day, do I like them? As friends I do, but not as significant others. And you said he doesn't do with anybody.
I'm sorry, but you really have a lack of information right now. Now say if he were to hug just you, then maybe I would raise my eyebrow at it and say maybe, but from you've told me, I get more of a friendship type of deal.
Btw, if you are dead set in your head he likes you, then by all means, go for it. And age doesn't matter anyway, so there really isn't a problem there.
But like I said above, from what you said I get more of a friend type of feel from him to you.

go for it gurl, age ain't nothing but a number and if he likes you and you like him then try it and see what happens, don't listen to other people i've dated peoplem who were older then me and im the same age as you, its not really that much of a difference because when you get even older like 18 you'll be dating people in their 20 and stuff so just go for it you only got one life to live, so live it to the fullest!!

In reality, age difference does matter. I don't care what the other columnists say about it. Age does matter.
Let's just think about this. This guy is about seventeen years old. If he had respect for you, don't you think he'd be looking at you as a middle school child that has a girly crush on him? He's almost out of high school!
You say this guy is great and respectful. Hmm..so howcome this guy is going as low as thirteen? Come on. He needs to grow up and get a girlfriend his own age.

i think if you like this go for it. i used to be in the same situition as you are in now. i would give it a chance because age is only a number. a couple points i would like to tell you about.
1) make sure you dont ever do what you dont want to do
2) since he is older he might want to get somethin from you (sex)
3) just be careful
4) i would end the realtionship be4 he turns 18 because he can go to jail for that.

Since he is 17 I think he is to old for you.
Not that 4 years is a lot but as soon as he turns 18 he can be thrown in jail for dating you.
He really needs to find someone his own age. Sorry.
