What are the symptoms of a yeast infection?
Hi. I'm female (obviously) and I'm 16 years old.
I think I might have a yeast infection, but what are the symptonms, and could it possibly be something else?

My cousin & her Daughter both go a yeast infection, & I'll let you know, the didn't go through anything truley serious. You could tell the both had it because part of their lips became white. They both recoverd quickly, it was just a matter of letting it heal on its own.

-Vaginal itching that is often severe.
-Vaginal discharge that is usually white, curdlike, and odorless.
-Red, irritated skin around the opening to the vagina (labia).
-Pain while urinating when urine touches irritated skin.

The biggest cause of infections is lowered immunity. This can happen when you get run down from doing too much and not getting enough rest.
Symptoms of yeast infection include:
-Vaginal itching and irritation
-Unusual vaginal discharge, often white and thick
-Vaginal pain during intercourse
-Burning sensation during intercourse
Is there a treatment or cure for yeast infection?
A variety of effective treatments are available from single-dose treatment to treatment courses of 3-7 days. Yeast infections can be treated and cured with antifungal medication, which can come in the form of tablets, vaginal suppositories, or cream. When using antifungal vaginal creams or suppositories, remember that those preparations are oil-based and will weaken latex condoms and diaphragms.
