Wedding Attire

Question Posted Wednesday March 22 2006, 3:28 pm

I am going to a wedding at 11am this Saturday. I am worried the outfit I picked out is more for an evening wedding. Can I get some opinions?

I am wearing this top with cream dress slacks and black heals. The cream 'belt' ties in a bow in the back.

Is this appropriate attire for a morning wedding?

The shirt is very casual. Check and see if it says something dealing with being formal or casual. Maybe if you wore a skirt instead of slacks, it might make it look more formal!

Good choice! I love the shirt!

The top from the image looks fairly casual. It might be too casual even for a morning wedding, and evening weddings are usually more formal.

Check the invitation. If it says "casual", "dress casual", or even "cocktail attire" (although if that's the case I'd recommend something more formal) then it's OK. If it's "semiformal" or "formal" then you should be wearing a dress.

I agree with below advice. What I would do is take that top and get a skirt that is lower than knee highth. Morning is not-so-formal but formal enough... kinda like "medium" formal. Nights are really formal. Thats a cute top btw!

To be honest, weddings are usually a bit more formal than what you have chosen. Like dresses the whole nine yards. I'm not sure how formal the wedding will be so this may be OK, but ask someone that you know is going wether they think you should wear a dress or not.

In response to your feedback don't be worried and it looking formal. It is supposed to look formal.
