I'm doing track and field. Yesterday was the first day. I'm not much of a runner, I do the field events, but yesterday all we did was run. Now my thighs are killing me. I have track again tomorrow and we're going to run the 100 meter most of the time. How can I stop my legs from hurting? How can I prevent them from hurting?

DancinCutie08 answered Tuesday March 21 2006, 7:42 pm: do alot of stretching it really helps prevent pain. to get rid of pain try warm baths, ice and rubbing the pain.. that did the trick for me at track when we did stairs which is crazy painful! It's just the beggining, and at the beggining of each season, your legs aren't used to the vigourous excersizes, so they get sore. Eventually you'll get so used to it, it will go away. If you don't already do this, I definately suggest STRETCHING before running, then lightly jogg. [ xo_tragicglamour's advice column | Ask xo_tragicglamour A Question ]
xomegaroni answered Tuesday March 21 2006, 6:18 pm: ice them tonight & make sure you really stretch good before you run & after. it hurts less over time. it's juss cause you're running a lot more than you're probably used to. if you stretch good before & after it should help. plus over time it'll be less sore since you're used to running that much. it'll juss get easy.
