I need advice

Iam 16 years old and I want to get a job like my other friends.Iam sick and tired of having to ask my mom for money all the time I want to make my own money,but my mom dosn't want me to get a job becouse she says if I do my disability check would get get canceled.Is this true?my mom says she dosn't understand why I want to get a job when I could just sit at hom and get a check,but the money I get for my disability check goes to my mom to help take care of me.what should I do?

well as far as i know your arent even supose to be getting a disablility check till you are 18.. or maybe that is just in my state but anyways you need to check because most states have rules like if you work under 20 hours you can still get your check or whatever because your a minor you need to check without your plan and what not

I don't know much about disability checks, but would a job like petsitting, mother's helper or babysitting be a job that you could do and still keep the check? Because in many cases you will find someone who needs one of these done often and the pay is usually fairly good.

Your mom is correct.

If you get paid for being disabled and you get a job you get no more check.
