Failing

Question Posted Tuesday March 14 2006, 4:06 pm

Ok, so right now I have a 50% in math. Which is failing. I have to bring it up to a 70% by April 4 and I don't know how. I went three times already to ask my teahcer for help and it doesn't work. I stink at memorizing things. I really don't want a tutor because the one my mom would send me to is my crush's mom! I'm in level one.. taking algebra and it's just so hard. I have A's in all my other classes but this one. My teacher only counts hw and quizzes. What should I do??

April 4th is my bday. =D just thought I'd share that.

Anyways, if you have a block schedule like I do, then do your homework the night it is assigned and go to the teacher with any of the problems you didn't understand. Then, the next night, review what you have learned so far in the chapter. By doing this, you will memorize them over a longer period of time rather than cramming them into your brain and so you will remember them better and longer.

First off...

1. Do all your homework, if you don't do homework you went get a classwork/homework grade for the semester which means you wont get a 70.

2. Study for your tests. It doesn't need to be crash course studing, just going over the work and homework that you have done. Also ask your teacher what material will be on your test so you know what to study for.

3. Keep orginized in Math, its essencial to keep all your work and tests because sometimes you can use it for tests.

4. Do extra credit. Ask to do difficult word problems, or maybe like if their is a problem in homework make a graph for it, something like that.

Been there before.. I know what you mean. All anyone said to me was: "Do your homework on time". " Do all your assignments".
If theres extra credit you could do, You may want to ask her/him about it. All the advice i could say is to do all your work on time and get full credit for it.

♥ sorry!

Explain to your teacher that you don't understand what is going on and ask her if you could come in a fter school to get some help Or ask someone in the class to explain algebra to you so you can get caught up. Algebra was a really hard course for me too. If she only counts homework and quizzes. Always do your homework like every night and do really well on it. So when it comes to quizzes youll know what is going on. If you need any more help leave on ein my Inbox.

ive had the same problem before.
all i can say is, do your homework,
and do it everyday. have an older friend
or parent check it, if your teacher grades
them, but if he/she just looks to see it's done;
make sure it's always, and i mean always done.
by having all the full points for having your
homework in, it will boost your average alot.

gooodluck
