good poems Hi, for my schools talent show I am reading a poem. I want to read a poem by someone else and of course I will give them their credit. But I want to know other people's opinions of good poems that they know of. I am open to suggestions. If you could supply me with the author and the name of the poem that would be great. But you don't have to worry about giving me the exact poem unless you want to(that would definitely be great but its not a must.) Thanks in advance :)

Peter S. Beagle, "What Is Gone Is Gone". From "The Last Unicorn". Very cool. Also short and easy to remember.
It took some searching, but here's the text:

I'm also very fond of "Terrence, This is Stupid Stuff" by A.E. Housman, and memorized it myself just for fun. It's very funny.

Edgar Allen Poe is one of my favorites... "A Monodony of Dr. Olmstead" is an excellent one, so is "Annabel Lee". You might not be into his stuff, but it's defintaly worth trying out. ]
Well this one certainly is not about love. My favourite poem of all time is "Dulce et Decorum Est" by Wilfred Owen. In case you havent had anything on him, he was a young poet that wrote from the trenches in world war one. He was killed just before the end of the war if memory serves. Here is a link to it:

Poison Tree by William Blake; On the Burning of My House by Anne Bradstreet; Richard Cory by Edwin Arlington Robinson; Nobody by Emily Dickinson. Check out other works by those poets, too. ]
My all time favorite is 'The Road not Taken' by Robert Frost.
You can find it here if you'd like to read it. :)
