Digital Camera

Question Posted Tuesday February 28 2006, 10:02 pm

Well, I am really wanting a digital camera these days. I know they are pretty pricey also. I want one that has the little screen in the back so you can look at the picture you took.
How much are digital camera's in range? And another thing, I am about 13 and I really want to buy my own because I know my mom can't buy me one.
What would be a good job for me to get some money for that? Babysitting is my biggest option right now. How many times do you think I would have to babysit if I ask for 6-11$ an hour?

Thank you so much for the help!

This might sound wierd but they have really nice digital camera's at walgreens. So if you have a walgreens near where you live you could go and get one. I recently went and bought a kodak one for about 80-100 dollars (they have different types) so if you can find someone to pay you lets say 5 dollars and hour, then you need to babysit for 16 to 20 hrs. But that isnt that bad if you babysit for at least 2 to 3 hrs eack time. Also you might get paid more money. Okay so if you wanted to save $90's the you would have to babysit 6days for 3 hrs each. Which isnt bad if you spread the days out. Since you only about 13 that may be the only kind of job you can get, but maybe ask you mom or dad or whomever you live with that if you did extra work around the house, if you could get paid.

I dont know who will want you to babysit if your charing 6-11 dollars an hour. Even daycare centers don't charge that much. And I know that for a fact because I have a babysitting job. I charge $5 an hour for 1 kid. And if its 2 kids I charge $4 dollars. Anyways. You got to keep to keep that in mind. I would go to Best buy and check out there camera's They usually have pretty good deals and the workers there are always willing to help you the best one for the price your willing to pay.

A nice digital camera will probably cost between $100 and $400. I got one for $60 not too long ago and it's pretty crappy. It works fine and has lots of features, but the picture quality is quite low. I wouldn't say that I made a very good investment. What you need to do is first think about what you want it to have. Rechargeable battery? How long do you want the battery to last? Does picture quality matter? Video? Timer? Then go to a place like WalMart and talk to someone there. They usually have a pretty good idea of what you're looking for. I would say that $250 is plenty of money to get a nice camera, but you should still go to the store and figure out exactly what you want.
