hey,
my mum is 46 and she gets really bad bruises on her fingers after simple tasks like carrying the shopping.
She will carry a few bags of shopping home in plastic carrier bags and then she will complain about her fingers swelling up, being painful or developing bruises.
I'Ve asked her if she thinks its serious and she says its probably nothing and I'm just worried it could be some disease or something...?
please help

Nallie answered Saturday February 25 2006, 3:46 pm: She does have a cause for concern. There are several things that it may be, and many of these are treatable. With the little information that you have given I would say this is a serious problem and she needs to see a Dr right away. Imagine if she were in an accident, or received a cut from a knife? It may be quite possible for her to bleed to death.
VainTaraLynn answered Friday February 24 2006, 8:13 pm: Its not a disease, she might just have thin blood. My grandpa has something like that and if you like touch his skin, he will get a bruise. It's no big deal. My grandpa gets it as a side effect of some medication that he takes, but hes not going to like die from it or anything. She should go to the doctors though and have them look at that because I know that its not normal, but i highly doubt its a disease or anything life threatening. honu22 answered Friday February 24 2006, 7:32 pm: I think this is pretty serious, she most likely has a bleeding disorder if brusing occurs all the time from small impacts. Go have a doctor check her out! [ honu22's advice column | Ask honu22 A Question ]
karenR answered Friday February 24 2006, 4:53 pm: Some people do just bruise easily. However, since it isn't real common I think she should have it checked out by a doctor. Knowing for sure it is nothing sure makes a person feel better! :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
