Is it normal to be this paranoid? Like, I always close the window and watch my back because I think there's a camera or even a person watching me. But the thing that happens almost 24/7 is that when I write something personal, like a diary entry or something along those lines, I think someone's going to find it, read it, let everyone know about it, and ruin my life if I keep it around. If I put this stuff on the internet, I think someone I know will find it and do the same thing, or use it for blackmail. Is it normal to be paranoid like this? Is this even called paranoia?

Think about it. Are there any people who would be obsessive enough to watch you? Do you work for the government or perform illegal activities or belong to the Witness Protection Program? No? Well, then, chances are very good that people aren't spying on you. In fact, most people find it hard enough to care about THEMSELVES, much less someone else. That's a ton of time and money spent, and unless the person/people watching you were professionals (which wouldn't happen unless you have a really colorful past)they wouldn't even be able to afford the equipment AND you would have noticed them. It's not terribly hard for people to steal things off the Internet, but when they do, it's people's bank account information or identity they're after, not diary entries. If you really think someone will steal your entries, write them and then burn them. I mean, once you've written them, you don't have to keep them around, right? Are your diary entries really that sordid? I know this sounds really bitchy, and I understand that a certain level of paranoia is healthy. I'm just saying that someone would have to really be obsessed with you to put that much effort into ruining your life. I mean, most people can't even work their own computers, much less hack into yours. [ oodles_of_noodles's advice column | Ask oodles_of_noodles A Question ]

Also some other things, but if you really are worried about it maybe talk to someone you can trust about it. And maybe they can help you out. Like any room I go into I close the door. I can't help it, I freak when the door isn't closed, and the wierd thing is...I'm closterphobic, so it sucks. When I sleep, the door to my room has to be closed. I get pariniod about the same things you do. I used to have a stalker though, so...ya. But, I don't think that it is anything that you should worry about. But if you want to, talk to someone about it, like your parents or something..I wouldn't worry about it, but that is me. I hope that I helped, and remember that my inbox is always open. You don't have to rate, but it would be nice. Thanks.
P.S.
If you think you are pariniod, you haven't seen my grandma. The other day she made my mom go to the store for a little cap for the tire of her car. You know the thing that you put the air in the tire? Ya! The whole reason was because she was afraid that someone would walk by and let the air out of her tire. Ya, she is waked...anyway, just thought that I would show you that you aren't crazy! [ deathwillcome's advice column | Ask deathwillcome A Question ]
4everMyself2 answered Sunday February 19 2006, 7:21 pm: No, I don't think that is normal.
Not to many people think that a camera or someone is always watching them.
I'm not a doctor so i'm not sure if you have paranoia but I do know what it is.
Paranoia is a psychotic disorder characterized by delusions of persecution with or without grandeur, often strenuously defended with apparent logic and reason. [ 4everMyself2's advice column | Ask 4everMyself2 A Question ]
