Asking guys to dance

Question Posted Tuesday February 7 2006, 9:52 pm

Ok well valentines day is coming up and i hate it. Cause it's always the time you find out nobody likes me and well i'm not ugly like i can show u a pic but i feel soo freakin ugly and unwanted when i don't get asked out or even asked to dance. So my friend told me to ask them. Do guys like it when girls ask them to dance? Or do they thinks is weird and depret? (sorry if i spelled that wrong lol)

It depends on the guy. Some guys are jerks, some aren't.
Personally, all the guys I've ever asked have been mature and said yes, and all went well. I know a lot of girls who have asked guys to dance before. I can't speak for all guys when I say this, because all of them are different, but based on my experience, guys don't think it's weird at all, and they don't think you're desperate if you ask.

Guys are shy, too. Sometimes they want to dance with a girl but are too shy to ask.

Dancing isn't as big of a deal as you may think. Not just couples dance: guys dance with girls who are just friends.

I hope I helped, and if you have any more questions, feel free to leave one in my inbox!

Let me tell you many many guys wish that girls would take the first step a bit more often (at least thats the way it was back when I was in school). Not neccessarily because they are incompetent or anything, more because it relieves some of the pressure (and fear of rejection).
The thing is, in my (humble) opinion the world would be a more efficient place if girls took the first step more often. Since many guys are not really very good at reading signals, and certainly dont work well with hints, you tend to see a lot of guesswork when it comes to dating. The most succesful guys I have seen in my life have always been the ones that had no sense of embarassment and took the machine gun approach to asking women out.
The girl making the first move might intimidate some guys, but I think overall most of us would be thrilled at finally having things the way we like them... obvious and apparent.

I don't know what guys think (what girl does?) but I do know that most boys are very shy and refrain from asking girls out, so if you asked a guy out that would show that you are self confident and outgoing, definitely not desperate. Good luck! ^^

Depends on the guy.

If the guy is sweet and sensitive, then he will think that it is very mature and sweet of the girl to ask.

If he is a jerk and inconsiderate, then he will most likely blow you off and think you are being dumb.

But most guys are shy. Sure they won`t admit to it but do guys admit that they cry? No...and we know they do.

I asked my best friend to my schools blacklight dance and he said yes.

I won`t lie to you, it is very hard and nerve-wrecking.

But once you get it over with, it is very relieving.

Keep me updated babe!

Good luck!

Guys aren't the only ones that can ask! I've asked guys to dance before. It's not that big of a deal and I'm sure that guys like it just as much as girls...we're all people after all. I hope I helped you and good luck. Don't get so down in the dumps on Valentine's day. It really is a dumb holiday.
