Bulimia is horrible. Let me share some experiences I have had with it.

When I was younger, my family had a friend who was a model. She was truly beautiful, but constantly trying to lose weight. She developed bulimia. Soon, she died. I was around seven when this happened, so I was obviously quite confused. I could not understand why someone would hate their body enough to throw up everytime they ate.

The Second story I have hits much close to home. This past year my best friend developed bulimia. First, she threw up every few days. It soon became more frequent. Soon she would be planning out binges and when she would vomit her food back up. She lost a ton of weight, however, she looked completely sickly. Her face was constantly breaking out, her clothes hung off of her, and she always had bags under her eyes. The pretty girl I was once laughing and having a good time with was gone. Eventually, she hit an all time low and had to spend a week in the hospital. Now, she has recovered. However, she still has to go to therapy once a week and she relapses every so often. It's a work in progress, but I amso happy my best friend is back.

As you can see, bulimia is extremely serious. If you cannot stop please seek help as soon as possible. You need a professional.

Look around this website for tips on recovery. I really hope you stop doing this to yourself. Your friends and family do not want to see you hurt yourself.

How bad is it? It's terrible. I cannot imagine why you would contemplate whether it's good or bad- nothing about forcing yourself to vomit after you have eaten, can possibly be positive, good for you physically, emotionally, or psychologically. It is just plain bad.

I have never suffered from bullimia, but I have known people who have. It is an extremely unhealthy for two reasons. First, forced vomiting has detrimental effects on your body. Overtime, your intestines and heart become negatively affected from the forced purging, pressure and excess acidity- you can die from it. Your tooth enamel will be eaten up from all the acid in your vomit. Physically, the longterm effects can (and often do) put your life in danger- nothing to play around with. Second, this condition is psychological and deeply rooted in a negative body image. That is the root of the problem, and the psychological conditions of bullemia and other eating disorders need to be addressed just as much as the health effects of the disorder itself.

Is loosing the weight worth putting your life and well-being in danger? You need to talk to a professional- private or at school about this. At least tell a parent, teacher or trusted adult. You can stop this now before it gets any worse. Once you are on the wrong track, it will become that much harder to reverse the damage.

Please stop as soon as possible, actually, stop now. If you need help stopping, talk to your mom or a friend or see a doctor.

The health effects are horrible and you do not want to go through that. google the dangers of bulimia and it will change your mind. and actually, most people who are bulimic do not lose weight because their body is still absorbing calories and you tend to eat more when you know you are going to throw it up. IT IS A BAD THING i have known people who have done it for years and it screws up your body big time, think tooth decay, estophogus problems and perhaps an eventual heart attack. stop now if you care about your health. If you want to lose weight quickly cut calories and exercise. eat fruits and vegetables and lean protein and don't drink anything but water or unsweetened tea. good luck
