scoliosis
well im 14, and when i was around 11, i found out that i had scoliosis. which is sorta like a disease,its where your spine grows on a curve. and well i was in 6th grade at the time. and i like, wore it all the time. but when i got to 7th grade, i was like w.e and didnt wear it as much. now in 8th grade, i sorta never really wear it. i just pretend i do. and when i get home from school then i put it on. the doctor says taht if i dont wear it then ill need to get surgery, but seruiosly, i never really wear it anyway, and the doctors are saying that my bad is fine and geting better. but they think that im wearing my brace all the time. so i was wondering what i should do..should i like just wear it. or like what im doing is fine. i just need to knwo what should happen. a comment would be fine.

but for school wear it, & if u take it of keep your posture stright, i wear a back brace & im in grade 8, started wearing in begining of grade 7, i only take it off for like gym or when i go out..

keep wearing it. if you have surgery there is always a risk of you being paralized, getting infections etc. and besides if you dont wear it now you may have to wear it the rest of your life but if you wear it now you shouldnt have to wear it after puberty is over!

Hey I have scoliosis too! Ive had 3 surgeries and I wore a brace for 3 years! I didnt wear as much at first untill i found out I mite have surgery. My mom also has it and shes had 3 surgeries too but she wore a brace for 7 years! We were unlucky and the brace would not help us, even if we wore it all day and forever! Our case was unfixable! You are very lucky to be able to wear it and get better. Surgery is very painful! The worst thing ive ever done! Not only is it painful as in hurting but also you lose many friends and you have to miss school then catch up. If you play sports then you wont be as good anymore and it will always hurt. After my 1st surgery I was never 100 percent, I ended up getting an infection on my rod and I was so sick. I was always tired and I lost alot of weight. Because of this I had to have 2 more painful surgeries, just last month. I really hope this makes you see how fortunate you are. If you wear this brace, you wont have to worry about scoliosis for the rest of your life like me and my mom have to. Im so sorry that you got stuck with this. I know how bad it is. But if you dont wear it then you could end up like me and my mom. My back went from 8 degrees to the 50's degrees. Thats because braces would not work for me, you have the chance.

I personally think you should wear it all the time.
Your back might be getting better but think about it; your back may get better FASTER if you wear it all the time. Then you won't have to wear it anymore.
