Okay wow alot of things known in just one check up, right? . Well idk what to do. Becuase i might have depression and stuff. Lyme disease, Mono and asthma should have been immediately treated if those were confirmed. As for having ADD or ADHD and dyslexia, a normal doctor is not qualified to diagnose you with these with any degree of certainty. You actually need to go through some pretty complex tests to be diagnosed. I highly suggest you get a second opinion, although I think visiting a psychologist might be a good option if you think you're depressed. They can figure that out for you and also link you to places that can test you for things like dyslexia and ADD. Again, it is highly unlikely that those things wouldn't have been caught before now. My guess is that you're a normal, active teenager. Bottom line: try talking to a counselor (some are free, or there are hotlines) or seeing a psychologist (psychiatrists are more likely to put you on medication and aren't really involved in treating you like psychologists are).
p.s. In my opinion, you're normal. I'd see another doctor, though. [ oodles_of_noodles's advice column | Ask oodles_of_noodles A Question ]

You coasted 13 years of your life without having any of yur teachers knowing you have dislexia - pretty impressive!
Yea that psychiatrist should be able to help you a great deal- uh huh.
ncblondie answered Wednesday February 1 2006, 12:36 pm: Wow that's a lot to deal with at once. It's understandable that you'd be upset with that list of possibilities. Just remember that none of this is your fault and it can all be treated. Also, this is probably a preliminary diagnosis and the doctor will most likely be running more tests to get to the bottom of what's going on.
It may help you to learn about these conditions. For me, I can handle bad news easier if I know all the details. Try [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) to look them up. Your doctor can also give you more information regarding the conditions and how they're treated.
As for seeing a shrink, don't let it get you down. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone that's outside the situation. They may be able to offer a view you hadn't considered yet. [ ncblondie's advice column | Ask ncblondie A Question ]
TheOldOne answered Wednesday February 1 2006, 11:04 am: That's quite a set of possibilities to throw at you. And it's a lot of uncertainty to deal with at your age - or ANY age, actually.
Look at it this way, though: at least you're getting some medical attention and help. It's not like your doctor is just trying to "treat & street" you, which is what happens to a lot of people these days. And you're young; it's much better to deal with this stuff NOW, rather than waiting for years and suffering unnecessarily.
It's scary, yes. And it's important to remember that NONE of this is your fault, not in any way. But diagnosis and treatment is the first step to dealing with it all. Of course it's also quite possible that you don't have ALL of the conditions that your doctor suggested, which is why (I assume) he'll be doing further tests.
The other good thing is that there are effective treatments for those conditions - I don't want to sound heartless, and please don't take this the wrong way, but it's not like he told you that you have cancer. With treatment you should be able to lead a long, healthy, happy life.
Try to relax. If it all gets too scary, look up some relaxation techniques online; meditation and breathing exercises are very helpful. You should be able to talk about all of this with your psychiatrist, too, or with a therapist - it sounds as if they're likely to recommend one - and that should help, too.
