Fund raising!

Question Posted Monday January 30 2006, 9:45 pm

Ok, well our school is doing this trip to Europe for next summer, and I REALLY want to go, but my mom says I can't unless I raise the money myself. I don't know how I'm going to get the money, cause it's a really expensive trip, but I really want to go. Anyone got any ideas on how I can raise the money? And I'm too young to get a job anywhere... Please help! Thanks!

Well I'm not sure where you live, and if you're allowed to do this there, but a way I always make some extra cash is by asking my friends and family members if they have any pop or beer cans that I can return at the bottle depot. You can also collect them yourself if you go to the local parks and beaches, people always leave them laying around. You can get 5 cents for pop cans, and 10 cents for beer cans, and 20 cents for a two litre pop or alchoholic beverage.
I make about 10 dollars a week doing this. I live in an appartment complex. I just let all my neighbors know I return bottles for money and they leave them at the door.
You do the math: 10 dollars a week equals 40 dollars a month. Next summer is 6 months away, so that will be over 300 dollars.

Mow lawns, wash cars, have a garge sale, baby sit, walk dogs, the possibilities are endless! Think of something that you are good at doing and think of a way that you can turn that skill into a business. Good luck!
